CIV680M/D, a graduate seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction and Infrastructure Development (DRRID) is one of the integration courses in the
graduate program in civil engineering. In this course, graduate students in
civil engineering from various specializations and other allied programs apply
their knowledge and skills to address the impact of natural hazards on the
built environment, to explore ways of reducing the adverse effects of the
natural hazards and to improve and build infrastructure and community
resilience.
Members of the CESDR Disaster Resilience Unit served as resource lecturers in the DRRID Graduate Seminar. Serving as resource lecturers in the course during Term 2 of AY 2019-2020 (shown below) were Dr. Renan Tanhueco, Dr. Mario De Leon, Dr. Maricel Paringit, Dr.Jonathan Dungca, Dr. Nicanor Roxas, Jr. and Richard De Jesus. Invited to share research outputs are graduate students, Raymund Abad and Patrick Ngo. The course was facilitated by Dr. Andres Oreta, the leader of CESDR DR Unit and Professor of the Civil Engineering Department.
